THE AFTER DARK DIARIES: BLUE MOVIE in March, Candy Samples Gets BITTERSWEET in April, POOR LIFE CHOICES on 4/20, and new classic EIGHT TALES OF PEDRO on Cinco de Mayo!

On the afternoon of Sunday, March 12th at New York City’s famous Leather bar The Eagle, Mr. Eagle NYC 2023 Chris Kelley hosted Special Guest Stephan Ferris, Esq., who read from his memoir BLUE MOVIE and participated in a Q&A with his audience afterward. A native of San Fransisco, Ferris is a dedicated lawyer and an activist– but many may know of him by his alias Blue Bailey. As Bailey, Stephan Ferris was a prolific adult film performer, participating in many scenes which are considered extreme even by the anything-goes standards of the so-called “jizz biz”. BLUE MOVIE is a raw, unfiltered, no-holes-barred, and ultimately inspirational experience. To put it simply, many would say the author is lucky to have made it out alive. The book takes an uncensored look at what happens when parallel sex and drug addictions meet at the center of that proverbial “X” to form an unholy alliance. Published by Unbound Edition Press, BLUE MOVIE is available at Amazon.com and other online sources.

Fans of New York City drag performer and HIV/AIDS activist Candy Samples were out in full force on Saturday, April 8th at Astoria hotspot Albatross to celebrate the release of her all-new, ten-song album BITTERSWEET. Candy performed most of the songs from the new album as well as such audience favorites such as Bear Season and If I Had Only Left (Two Shots Earlier).  There was also a Candy Samples-inspired celebratory cake, courtesy of Ms. Samples’ friend and fellow performer Adam B. Shapiro. All of the star’s tips from the audience went to the upcoming AIDS Walk New York. You can get Candy Samples’ BITTERSWEET here.

MODEST MALE EXPOSURE, the new comedy created by New York City drag personality/performer Lady Clover Honey and New York City journalist/photographer Jed Ryan, was an Official Selection of the Poor Life Choices Comedy Film Festival for “Mockumentary Short Film”. Award-winning performer and playwright Mark-Eugene Garcia’s original, powerful, and provocative drama EIGHT TALES OF PEDRO at Queens Theatre, directed by Rodrigo Ernesto Bolanos, really packs a wallop. The Opening Night was Friday, May 5th– so, of course there was a Cinco de Mayo celebration with food, drinks, and a DJ after the show!
